William Carson banned for six months

Jockey William Carson was banned for six months after testing positive for a metabolite of cocaine.
His suspension has been backdated to start from April 4 eight days after the sample taken Lingfield from him was found to contain the banned chemical benzoylecgonine.
His ban runs to October 4 – and as long as his riding licence has not expired and clearance is received by him from the medical team of the British Horseracing Authority, he will able to resume his career.
Carson, the grandson of multiple Classic winner Willie Carson and champion, received confirmation of his punishment at a BHA panel hearing on Thursday.
Since April 1 this season, Carson hasn’t ridden With no winner. His main success to date came aboard Regal Parade from the 2008 Ayr Gold Cup.
