This week, we have a 13-fight card at Boise, Idaho. It is headlined by Junior Dos Santos vs Blagoy Ivanov, who is making his UFC debut. DraftKings has smaller contests for this card because it is just a Fight Night card using lesser known title, but there’s still well over $100k to be obtained. I will be chasing my fair share of the money and that I hope you guys will be too. Listed below are a couple plays I like this weekend and my fade of the week.
Cash Game play of the week — Alexander Volkanovski ($9,200)
I believe Volkanovski is the”safest” play on this card along with also his -300 gaming lineup would concur with me. That’s where I’ll be starting my lineup this week and I will figure out the rest from there. Volkanovski averages 116.5 DK points through his first four UFC fights so he has a ton of upside too. He could potential score more than two winners with this card combined. I really do think he’s in play for GPPs too for this reason, but he will likely be the heaviest owned fighter on the card and we don’t care about ownership as much in cash games. I’d suggest paying up for the costly price tag in your money games and I then search for at least 3 others wins you are confident in.
GPP drama of the week — Junior Dos Santos ($8,700)
JDS ought to function as way better striker in this struggle and I think that is where the fight will occur. He can get KO’d in the opening minutes of the fight and score 0 points, but that is what makes him a GPP play in lieu of a money game play. With these two Heavyweights, we need to likely see a KO within the 25-minues and that I feel the former winner, JDS, will be the one to get it. He’s got great takedown defense so he ought to be able to maintain this battle on the feet where he will have a 4-inch reach advantage to work with.
Underdog play of the week — Niko Price ($7,900)
Niko is going to be my underdog drama of this week. The odds demonstrate that the fight should be rather close and there’s a great chance he utilizes his wrestling to gain the advantage. In 5 fights he has not seen a decision yet, and there is a possibility it remains that way if he receives Brown to the ground. Niko has some slick entrances in his arsenal and a great deal of heart. On the feet, Brown likely has the benefit with his achieve, but Cost does have some sneaky power also, which can’t be overlooked. All in all, I like this as a GPP play.
Fade of the week — Alejandro Perez ($9,100)
Perez is the 2nd most expensive fighter on this card and he is only $100 less expensive than Volkanovski. In my opinion, Perez will need a finish to really have a shot at paying off that expensive salary and I do not wish to invest in that, personally. He has never landed greater than 1 takedown in a fight and Wineland has excellent takedown defense, therefore we must see this battle occur on the toes. I believe Perez needs to be the person to receive his hand raised in the conclusion but I think it’s going to be via decision. If that’s the case then he can score ~60 points in a win, and at $9.1k that is not likely to win anybody a championship. I will be complete fading Perez this week and hoping he does not get the finish and he is my official fade of this week.
