Bad discipline could be the sole”chink” in England’s odds of winning the Rugby World Cup, says former head coach Sir Clive Woodward.
Woodward led England to World Cup glory in 2003 and states that achievement can be emulated by them in Japan – if they can keep 15 men on the pitch.
He considers some gamers'”track records” could prove costly.

“There are many strengths,” Woodward told BBC Radio 5 Live’s Sportsweek on Sunday. “They have got this very powerful team.
“Here is what I call an X-factor team – but rather a few of the starting XV have a track record of dropping it in a game when under pressure.
“There’s been a whole great deal of attention on the rules regarding neck-high tackles. If you’re playing France and Argentina, top teams, and get a guy sent then the odds of winning that game will be tough.
“You need every single player to perform under pressure and perform over the laws of the sport ”
After hosts England were knocked out in the group phase of the 2015 World Cup, australian Jones replaced Stuart Lancaster as head coach.
Woodward, who headed the negative in 1997-2004, is convinced they’ll reach the closing 2 November in Yokohama but says they have to set the rate in games.
“Eddie came to the project believing English rugby is laborious and tough, as he’s called it,” said the 63-year-old.
“He’s built an England team about the way he saw England playing in the past. They’re aggressive and demanding. The thing for me is they have got to perform quick.
“It doesn’t matter just how physical and tough you are, if you play slowly you aren’t going to acquire. If they could play at a true pace they have got every chance.”
